Chapter 9

We have been told that everything happens for a reason. There are no mistakes in the lessons we go through, which make us stronger as we gain strength from those experiences. We all have been affected by cancer at some point in our lives, directly or indirectly. I've seen family members and friends suffering from all types of cancer: throat, lung, leukemia, brain tumors and breast cancer.

October is breast cancer month and my aunt died of breast cancer three years ago. She had kept it to herself for a long time. She let us believe that she had a cold. Unbeknownst to the family, the cancer had spread to her lungs. It hurt the family to see her in that state, knowing that we could not help her hurt even more.

I've decided to wear pink lipstick in commemoration of Breast cancer month. It does not only affect females, but men as well and an early detection will result in managing the illness to recovery.
