Chapter 11

The past week has been eventful. Amidst of all the sadness and political turmoil, there was South African Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017 showcase held at the Hyde Park Corner in Johannesburg.

I particularly enjoyed watching a show by the new Chinese clothing brand "Chuhetingxiang Chu Yan" last Thursday evening. It was refreshing to see and experience the beauty of Chinese clothing.

The founder Chu Yang is China's first Ph.D candidate in fashion design. She is committed to disseminating and promoting the application of Chinese traditional culture and arts in modern life. They way she captured and translated her work brought a deep emotion and gave us a clear understanding of what her collection is about. Check out the images below.

Being there to marvel at the creations first hand has inspired me to not only share my work (see Chapter 10), but also to seek people who are as passionate and as driven about their craft. Remember inspired people inspire people.
